bringing meds into the UK
« on: June 02, 2014, 09:02:54 PM »
Is there a limit to how many prescription meds you can bring with you to the UK? My pharmacy will give me pretty much as many refills as I want before I leave but I don't know if I'll be allowed to bring them all in. It's just birth control and an anti-depressant, nothing controlled. I know I can get them filled in the UK but I don't know how long it'll take me to get set up with a new GP so it would be nice to have several months' supply.

Also, I take a painkiller called Tramadol for headaches, which is a controlled substance over here. If I have a prescription I should be allowed to bring it with me, right? (I'm not bringing a ton of it, I don't take it that often!)

I brought 12 months supply of meds into the UK in my hand luggage with no problem, although none of them are controlled substances.
