Nope, nothing yet! Our council only does ceremonies every 4 weeks I think, so I am hoping for a Jan appt too. It would make such a nice Christmas present...

The HO took the money out of my account last Tuesday (though it was pending until Friday) and I received a receipt of confirmation for my application on Monday. It was my anniversary so it was truly a lovely, if unintended gift from the HO.

So the timeline thus far is as follows:
22 Nov- Check-in service with the council, it was on a Saturday
24 Nov- Application and documents mailed to HO
25 Nov- Application received
02 Dec- Money taken out of account, pending until 5 Dec
08 Dec- Letter received from HO as receipt of confirmation for payment, dated 3 Dec

So it's going pretty quickly! Here's hoping I receive another letter soon, with good news!

It is difficult to speak adequately, or justly, of London. It is not a pleasant place; it is not agreeable, or easy, or exempt from reproach. It is only magnificent... the biggest aggregation of human life, the most complete compendium in the world.

Guess what just came in the mail!? My citizenship invitation! It was dated 5 Dec, so almost exactly 1 month from my application being received on 6 Nov. ceremony booked for 6 Jan. Almost finished! Whoop!

Finally able to join in here  :)

So DH has his NCS appointment today...so the wait begins, he is hoping to have it in time for the general election next year so expectations for a quick turnaround are low.

Hope everyone who is waiting gets some good news soon

I'm joining in too!

NCS Wandsworth Appointment: 3 Dec 2014
Application Signed for by Home Office: 5 Dec 2014
Payment taken from Bank Account: 15 Dec 2014
Acknowledgment Letter Received: 18 Dec 2014 (but was dated the 12 Dec 2014)

Now the wait begins...right before Christmas so I hope that this doesn't delay things too much. They do seem to be speeding up lately, according to this thread. Congrats to all of those who are DONE!

My citizenship invitation arrived! It was dated 11 December and my ceremony will be on 6 Jan. In total, only 16 days for a decision!

Great news for a few folks. Seems the approvals are going out fast now, not the 3 months it took for me.

It's a great feeling when it's done and dusted and that new passport in in hand.
Married December 1992 (my 'old flame' whom I first met in the mid-70s)
1st move to UK - 1993 (Letter of Consent granted at British Embassy in Washington DC)
ILR - 1994 (1 year later - no fee way back then!)
Back to US in 2000
Returned to UK July 2011 (Spousal Visa/KOL endorsement)
ILR - September 2011
Application for naturalization submitted July 2014
Approval received 15-10-14; ceremony scheduled for 10 November!
Passport arrived 25 November 2014. Finally done!

It's finally my turn to join!  ;D

Date of Application: Thu 18/12 (NCS Hammersmith)
Date of receipt by UKBA: Fri 19/12
Date of debit of fees: ...
Date of receipt of acknowledgement: ...
Date of receipt of approval: ...
Date of ceremony: ...

Honestly, I was primarily concerned about UKBA receiving the darn thing, as searching over on the immigrationboards forum about NCS Hammersmith shows various timescales of UKBA receiving documents from them (although the staff at NCS H&F were very lovely, and even pointing out to me where the ceremony will be held).  But I called this morning for the tracking number and hooray, it was signed for on Friday!

Now we'll see what affect the Christmas period has on things, compared to the recent zippiness with which they've been turning around applications [smiley=antlers.gif]

Checked my bank account today (last looked at it last night while updating my expenditure spreadsheet) and £906 has magically disappeared from my available balance!  ;D

Date of Application: Thu 18/12 (NCS Hammersmith)
Date of receipt by UKBA: Fri 19/12
Date of debit of fees: Mon 29/12 (per online banking figures; cleared 30/12)
Date of receipt of acknowledgement: ...
Date of receipt of approval: ...
Date of ceremony: ...

Started the new year by sending off my application as soon as I got back from the states. I didn't go through the checking service, which I'm now regretting since I've seen so many UKYers using it. My council (Lambeth) never called me back with an appointment so I decided to go it alone.

Application Sent: 2 January 2014
Application Received: 3 January 2014
Letter confirming receipt: ...

keeping positive  :)
I'm Here

July 2007: UK Work Permit Allocated
July 2007: Moved to the UK
Nov 2013: ILR
Jan 2015: Application for Naturalisation Submitted

I did use the NCS, but the woman barely looked at everything. Some councils apparently really examine the referee qualifications etc.

It's pretty straightforward - the bigest advantage to the NCS is retaining your passport and other original documents. You'll be fine I'm sure :-).
