A little update: Returned from holiday to find my acknowledgment letter and biometrics letter in the post, dated March 23. Decided that I love Luton so much, I went back a second time today, as they have the most convenient biometrics post office (took the train, wasn't keen on driving to the MK which in theory is closer). Anyhow, the Home Office now have my biometrics and a signature that, after three attempts, looks like an impressionist painter had a few too many and then tried to forge my signature.  If you squint, you might be able to see a resemblance. Oh well!

Basis: Unmarried Partner visa, 5 years residency
Applied via post: 12 March 2016
Application received by Home Office: 14 March 2016
Fee charged by Home Office: 31/03/2016 - This was the date the checque cleared my account, they said they had received full payment in their letter dateed 23/3/2016
Email acknowledgement: none
Letter of acknowledgement: Dated 23/3/2016 - Received between 29/3 and 1/4/2016
Letter requesting biometrics: Dated 23/3/2016 - Received between 29/3 and 1/4/2016
Biometrics enrollment: 07/04/2016
Approval received: TBD
Ceremony booked for: TBD

Well, she was an American girl, raised on promises.
She couldn't help thinking that there was a little more to life, somewhere else.
After all it was a great big world, with lots of places to run to.
And if she had to die trying she had one little promise she was gonna keep.

I am absolutely delighted to inform you that your naturalisation application has been approved!  We have had the letter confirming approval, and I expect that we will get the letter inviting you to the ceremony in the next few days.

Regards,
Solicitor

Thank you!

Today I received my letter requesting biometrics (dated 7 April). I'm going Thursday to have it done. At least I feel it's moving now.  ;D

Update:

Basis: Marriage to UKC 3+ years residency
Applied via Post: 14 March 2016
Application received by Home Office: 15 March 2016
Email acknowledgement: 8 April 16
Letter requesting biometrics received: 11 April 16 (dated 7 April)
Biometrics submitted: 14 April 16

Now, I have about 2 months until my birthday. Wonder if I'll hear anything by then??  :D

I'll probably be going to Leeds for my ceremony - does anyone know if they do the ceremonies on a particular day? or when the next few are scheduled? (I think someone on here said they are only every 6 weeks.)

Poor hubby. He was under the impression that the ceremony fee was included. Noooo, dear. He's ranting.  ;D  I said, "Hey, I think I get a 'welcome pack' with that!"  He said, "Yeah, what's that? A pic of the queen and a map?" "I don't know."  "Do we get a cuppa and a piece of sponge?"  "No, dear."  ;D

I got a lapel pin with the borough crest (?) And I wore it the rest of the day. A friend said it reminded her of something from Harry Potter.

The ceremony fee was included for me. I applied in 2015 so with the old fees, but I doubt that's changed. The only thing I had to pay for after the application fee was biometrics.

I did get a welcome packet and it contained a letter from Theresa May. >:( I would not pay money for anything from her, but at least I'm not on her 'naughty list now that I'm British! ;)

I got a lovely Emma Bridgewater union jack mug (my profile pic) from DH as my new Brit gift. Much better than the welcome packet. ;)
