Am I eligible to work in the UK? Help!
« on: August 19, 2014, 10:42:36 AM »
Sorry if any of this is going to look wonky or quick to say, on my iphone and I'm feeling rather depressed to find out the original plan I relied on-- fiancé visa-- fell through and I dearly miss and desire to be with my fiancé of 5 1/2 years. I simply do not have enough time in the original plan to get a fiancé visa paid for.

I'm looking for any help with a work visa and wondering if this route would be okay to get me closer to being with my fiancé. I really don't want to be in America any longer with this depression, ahah.

@ I work with amazon, full time warehouse worker and there's an amazon facility near his town. Do you think I could get a transfer if it's possible through them?
@ how long can I stay on a working visa? How do I renew it when the time comes?
@ I am 22, no kids, not in education but I do want to get back to school later down the road. High school graduate.
@ fiancé still lives with parents, he is working on his education.
@ his family will provide a place to stay, and if I am able to stay longer in the uk working, I would find a place for us to live on our own if I am granted to.

I'm sorry if this is quick or has been answered, I like to get a personal diagnosis on a visa from any one of you helpful and lovely people. I want to know if I qualify for this option, I am looking for anything I can get for myself. Thank you all very much, I hope to get some light she's on this idea.

You would need to talk to your HR department to see of they would sponsor an Intracompany Transfer visa for you.  It's a long shot but worth asking.

Your best route would be a student visa.  You could study in your desired field and get a university-level education.  This is a very expensive solution though.

One thing to consider regarding a student visa is that US student loans are available for attending UK universities depending on the university. So if you're willing to take on the debt, you can fund the degree that way.

It's a real long shot that you would qualify for a work visa.  You will have a much easier time getting the fiance visa if you qualify for that.  The time it will take to get a work visa will be likely much longer than getting a fiance visa, so if, as you say, you don't have time to wait for a fiance visa, then you will be waiting even longer for a work visa.

Unfortunately, it is very unlikely that warehouse work will meet the skill level for a work visa - is it considered a job necessary to have a first degree? If not (and the vast majority of roles are not considered degree level), you will not be able to transfer to the UK with this job...

Very sorry.
