Well, I will definitely report back on the outcome and then, at least, we'll all be updated.  :)

I'm trying to not worry about it too much since there is nothing I can do at this point, except wait.

I've seen on other threads people have mentioned being contacted for more information from Entry Clearance Officers (and given maybe a week or several days to provide additional information/documents). I guess I'll just have to hope maybe they would contact us if that was the only issue, and maybe by then my husband will even be over there, or we could arrange something else.  Fingers crossed!

I do NOT want to worry you, but the UKVI hotline is absolutely useless.  They are not known for giving accurate information.

Haha, I wish I would have known that! In my defense I did ask UK Yankee before calling the hotline  ;)

I don't feel too worried at this point (no reason to put myself through more stress) but that's good to know, and hopefully someone else sees this thread and learns something!

I will be very surprised if this turns into a "big thing".  I'm glad you are not worrying.   :)

I hope I followed this thread correctly (some of the posts were long and its midnight ET... :-[), but with a Tier 2 general work visa... I just went through it and did not show any proof of savings or short-term accommodation or anything.  However, my employer did say on the Certificate of Sponsorship that they will provide for me or whatever the line says.  But my visa went through just fine (actually literally in 2 days with priority service) with no issues so I hope that reassures you some :)  This just happened a couple weeks ago.

The only reason they told me to have a place booked was to put a local address on the application where I would be staying upon arrival that, for some reason, could not be a business (eg the office) address.  Also, duh, so I wouldn't be sleeping on the streets with all my luggage..!  :)

Just wanted to update that my visa was approved!!

So, it seems that, at least in some circumstances, short-term accommodation is okay!

Thanks, everyone, for all your help! I am getting on a plane in less than 8 hours!!!
