We got a house!
« on: November 17, 2014, 11:06:13 PM »
I'm just really excited! It's mostly in our price range (£50/mo over). 4 bedroom, 2 and a half bath (yay!) and an office, which gives us enough space for my fiancé to have a quiet space (he WFH), 3 kids and a guest room, and we have a play room downstairs too! Also, there's a utility room so I can get a real tumble dryer (any recommendations?)!

It's in Hampton in Arden, between Coventry and Birmingham (easy airport access) and walking distance to the train station AND the local pub! I've never lived in a "village" before.

Anyway, just passed the reference checks, so waiting on the contract, but I wanted to share! I keep looking at it online because I just love it (the pictures anyway). I could tell that K really liked it because he was so excited when he was telling me about it on the phone and he's normally so reserved!

We'll done! That's a super village. Very pretty with a touch of gentile England about it. The pub's good, but the Volvo Garage has moved.  :)  Solihull is very close for shopping, including a John Lewis and Beatties. The airport, NEC (concerts), the M42, and M6, train to London from the station, ......enjoy!

>chortle< indeed! More like a right clanger. It would be nice to blame the autocorrect, but I probably typed it that way. Anyway, what was meant to be said, "with a touch of genteel England about it". (Used in the archaic way, not the humorous way.)

Ha! I totally read it as "genteel" and not "gentile" (which describes DF but NOT me! LOL!).

I'm super excited about the area and the house and everything and DF is too. He went to an arts & crafts fair last weekend in HiA and said they had a bunch of things posted on their bulletin board about a local choir and theatre group and stuff, so I'm super excited about that. I'm also excited about the Nando's only 4 miles away!  ;D If I can't have Taco Bell...well, Nando's will do!  :P
