How to find a job

So as I'm planning my move I'm wondering how to go about finding a job? I only have my high school diploma.(couldn't afford college) Will that make it harder to find a job?

Just re-reading your previous posts, how is it that you are moving to the UK again? Do you have dual EU/US citizenship? Are you married to an EU cit? Coming here for study?

Your lack of qualifications may mean that you start at the bottom of the ladder, and you may very well find it difficult to start on that ladder...

It will be very difficult to find a job as a foreigner in the current climate without a degree. There are many people with advanced degrees who cannot find permanent work in this country, or any work at all. And depending what visa you plan to enter the UK on, you will have to have a certain salary level in order to come into the UK and stay, unless you are marrying someone, in which case they will have to earn at least £18,600. It is extraordinarily difficult/basically impossible for non-EU members to reside in the UK at the moment, unless they came in on the old rules, have a fiance/spouse or are being sponsored by a company. What visa are you entering the UK on?

Unfortunately, it will likely be a challenge to find a job.  The economy is not especially strong, and even people with degrees are finding it difficult to find employment (even just for basic level positions that don't require university degrees).

Have you considered studying in your home state with a course that has a study abroad feature? It might be useful to consider talking to the financial aid office to understand your financing options for study in your local area. This may be a more realistic and financially cost effective option.

Without a higher level of education, it would be difficult to secure a work visa. Moving and living abroad can be more expensive that education in your home state, not to mention issues of culture shock etc.
