New Year's Plans?
« on: December 31, 2014, 11:00:42 AM »
What's everyone's New Year's plans?

Our  7 month old whippet puppy, Mylo, is scared of the fireworks so we're planning a night in. My Brit and I are going to have an 80's movie marathon, some beers/ciders, a lovely dinner of homemade chicken strips and roasted veg. It should be a good night!
The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

Unfortunately, I have to work a night shift tonight :(.

So I'll be spending my New Year's Eve in an office with one other person, on a practically deserted air force base :P!

I'm currently living through a horrible purgatory that won't lighten up until at least Friday night, and not fully until... not sure really.  It doesn't get any worse than this, short of having someone die (knock wood).  Everything that should have been good (job offer, getting a new living situation arranged) has been really challenging and I am really tired.

We were going to go out to my small favorite club to party with others of like-minded music taste, but with moving on Friday and running around today getting a lease sorted and residence card application sent off, etc - we are just too tired and stressed.  So we got a cheap bottle of plonk and a spicy pizza at Waitrose and a NY Style cheesecake to entertain ourselves.  I've earned it - I did a full Beef Wellington last week!  Thinking I may start binge watching American Horror Story season 3 to take my mind off everything.

I'm travelling from Glasgow to Chester to meet up with my partner and our friends, who are already there exploring the real ale pubs.

Enjoy Chester- not too far from my neck of the woods! We are having a quiet night-- filled with rubbish food, big fat quiz of the year and any other nonsense we may stumble across....we will see if we stay awake to see in the new year :)

I got some treats, and will be sitting at home enjoying them.  When the fireworks start, I'll run the dishwasher and washing machine so my cats don't get too upset.

First New Years with a baby, which means I hope to be fast asleep at midnight.  We've been in Barcelona for a few days and got home a couple of hours ago.  Walked into a house that was only 9 degrees.  Poor pussycats!  So trying to get the house warmed up, the baby to sleep, and then I'm signing off to 2014!   Happy New Year everyone.

Such varied plans!

I just want to wish you all a very Happy New Year and I hope it's everything you could want!

Going to Bristol for a couple of days, that's where I met my husband 34 years ago! And we are taking some American friends to show them the sights. Bilss!

Our plan was frozen pizza, movies, heavy metal concert DVDs and expensive beer (the $10 - $18 a bottle variety, some including the cost of shipping), all in our pjs.
