Boris to renounce US citizenship
« on: February 15, 2015, 09:24:15 PM »
Well I suppose it was inevitable. +1 in the renouncing column.....I suppose he'll just renounce rather than relinquish. Boris must be worth a lot more than $2M and so will have to go through a tedious process of valuing his assets, but he'll only pay tax on gains over $625k

He'll do the last 5 years, which it sounds as if he has already done. There will be no Exit Tax; he was a dual citizen at birth.

PickledSakura, *sigh* indeed as I am just finding out.

I do wonder if any good can come out of the publicity that Boris is getting over this issue. Probably not... But the hopeful side of me wants it to.
