Hello and thanks for any help in advance...

I have worked with the Titanic Exhibits here in the US and wanted to apply to work in a Museum in Liverpool and Belfast but... would they even look at my CV?
If I applied for a work permit.. would that even cover being an education assistant, living history actress, or museum store manager?

I did all three for the Exhibit here in the US but needed to know if the visa "only" covers the jobs that are in demand such as social workers... etc.

I am thinking about finishing my degree in archeology but that wont be for a year or so.

You can't apply for a work permit without a guaranteed job offer from a company that can act as a sponsor.  So it's not possible to apply for a work permit before you get a job. You will be very unlikely to qualify for a job that comes with a work permit without a degree.  Those types of jobs are for highly skilled employees. The jobs that you've listed aren't positions that are unable to be filled by EU citizens.

The list changes regularly so it's entirely possible that in a year or so when you finish your degree, archaeologists might not be on the list anymore.

It is definitely worth finishing your degree.  If you don't mind where you work, you may have luck finding a job in your field in the UK that will be willing to sponsor you.  I saw on another topic that you are in archaeology?  Definitely familiarize yourself with the major UK archaeological organizations in you do hope to relocate.  I myself have a post-grad degree in archaeology from the University of Leicester which was very exciting because it was during the year my department was working on the Richard III project.

Some good sites to check out are:

-good for students just entering the work force.

http://www.bajr.org/
-postings for archaeology openings

http://www.archaeologyuk.org/training
-more information about archaeology in Britain

Good luck with you search!  I hope that you are able to find a job that will be willing to sponsor you.  Just keep looking!

Or there's always a study visa for postgraduate study:

Hi. I really hate to be a downer, but as a US archaeologist who moved here I feel that I have a responsibility to let you know how the situation really is here. Yes, archaeologists are needed in the UK - they always are. Usually because it is on the low-rung of the pay ladder and everyone tends to move away from it. Also, if you do not have a car or are willing/able to get one (or live really close to the company's headquarters), you will not even be considered. A friend of mine worked in both the lab and HR of a major company down south and she gave me a lot of information. First on her list was location and vehicle - if you say you have a car, your resume will go to the top of the list and if you do not list that you have a valid UK driver's license, your resume will be tossed out.
Second is be aware that while there are a lot of jobs - there are A TON of archaeologists trying to get work. Its a popular degree here so there are a major number of archaeologists here that can't get work. (I currently am not pursuing it because I am injured.) More importantly, if you do not already have a visa that allows you to work, you will not be hired from abroad. Companies have to pay for the license to sponsor visas - archaeology companies do not have the extra money to do that and I doubt would even if they did. No. archaeological company will sponsor a visa unless its something that no one has in the UK. Which right now is zooarchaeology. Apparently there is nobody here that specializes in zooarchaeology. If that is your specializing, then I say go for it. Otherwise, if your goal is to move to the UK, I would advise you find a different route. Again, I'm sorry to be a downer but I have personally had to deal with all of the problems of trying to be an archaeologist that I feel obligated to warn you. If you have any other questions, feel free to personal message me.
