Moving to UK
« on: March 24, 2015, 05:37:15 PM »
Hello -- My name is Penny and I was born in UK but have lived in US most of my life and now want to move home.  I will be retired when I do and able to buy a home.  I'm looking to move to St. Ives.
I plan to buy a home and live there four months and back in US for eight for the first year or two as I tie up all loose ends here.
Anyone else have a similar experience?
Thanks.

Hi Penny -- Not a UK citizen (US/Irish) but identify with the retirement aspects of your situation.  Also the one foot in each place deal as trying to juggle things on both sides of the pond!
I lived in UK just over 20 years on ILR (now defunct), then spent too many years back in the US.  Find adjusting to changes in the UK difficult.  (Most people have trouble with the US to UK culture shock)
