would be interested, if the time/place is convenient (I'm in Cheshire East).
Married December 1992 (my 'old flame' whom I first met in the mid-70s)
1st move to UK - 1993 (Letter of Consent granted at British Embassy in Washington DC)
ILR - 1994 (1 year later - no fee way back then!)
Back to US in 2000
Returned to UK July 2011 (Spousal Visa/KOL endorsement)
ILR - September 2011
Application for naturalization submitted July 2014
Approval received 15-10-14; ceremony scheduled for 10 November!
Passport arrived 25 November 2014. Finally done!

Of course Heather..anyone would be welcome! I noticed Vadio you aren't far from me..I am in Crewe. We'll give this thread a week or so to see who is interested and then see what works for those interested. I work at a school so weekends or evenings are best for me.

Looks like the three of us at the moment, although if we make plans others may join. What about a Saturday Afternoon Lunch? Also would people be bringing children? (will help in choosing a venue if we know)

As long as I can get a bus at a decent hour to wherever, I'm still interested. Only been driving in the UK since 1993 - and still don't like navigating around unfamiliar places.  :P

Hi there!  I'm brand new on this forum (I joined a while ago but didn't post anything at that time).  I'm in Manchester city centre.  Would be interested in a get together if it's reachable by a train or bus from Manchester :)
July 2003 - moved to London to study abroad
October 2004 - married a British guy
October 2004 - moved to Manchester
September 2009 - moved back to Vermont
Sometime in 2010 - divorced husband (retained Indefinite Leave to Remain visa!)
September 2011 - moved back to Manchester
Present - still in Manchester :)

Hi all I have been rubbish and haven't been on the forum much lately. I am going to make suggestion then and see how it goes...How about Crewe, which has major train station that can be arrived from anywhere. I admit is my hometown which makes it easy for me but it also means I know it best to organise a gathering.

I would suggest a Saturday Afternoon Lunch- which means people aren't having to travel at night. I am going to suggest 18th July---gives us a few weeks for people to see the thread and make plans. Once we know numbers and who is interested we can talk about more specific options..
So please reply with if 18th of July in Crewe works for you- if you will be attending on your own, with spouse and or with children (will help in venue choice)

I take the bus to Crewe from Congleton, and would be agreeable to a Saturday afternoon lunch anywhere that's bus-station accessible (or train station - I can get off the bus there instead of going into Town Center).

My only caveat is that DH has a minor out-patient/same day procedure scheduled a few days before, so my attendance would be contingent on his situation. Would know in plenty of time to commit or bow out. In any case, would be only me coming.

vadio- I did think a bus from congleton should be easy for you-- glad to hear it is. Once we know who is coming and where from we will choose a location- I am thinking most likely one near the train station will make the most sense, glad that is an easy option for you with the bus. Hopefully DH will be feeling fine but of course will understand if you have to bow out.

Unfortunately we have been invited to London that weekend (the husband's friends want to have a party for his birthday).  However, please keep me posted if the date changes or there is another meet up.
