I wish I were, but I'm afraid it's really just another 'better than the alternative' candidate.

I don't think she'd be awful, but she'd be very status quo, and I don't think that's what we need.

My dream ticket would involve people like Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Al Franken, or Russ Feingold (if he were still in politics).

Oh god I would love to see Elizabeth Warren join the race. Honestly, I'd be glad to see anyone who isn't a republican/conservative won the White House.  Hillary isn't my first choice out of all the prominent democrats in the country, but she is definitely the best candidate who has declared so far.

I fear Hillary's campaign is going to lean too much to the "first woman" angle rather than other issues.  A load of people are not going to want to follow up the "first black" with the "first woman".  And yeah, I'd rather see Elizabeth Warren but probably too soon for her.

Not at all, but I am far to the left of Hillary. I am seriously debating whether to even bother voting in the US election next year since I've spent all of Obama's presidency (oh, how I will miss Michelle O!) in the UK. It's depressing that it's just more of the same, the same dynasties fighting for the throne over and over again as politics moves ever rightward.

I know...but isn't "it takes a village" a little bit better than "eff you I got mine"?

Yeah, but I don't really believe that Hillary will try to support that metaphorical village and make sure that it thrives. And I'll never trust her after she supported the Iraq War. Same way I never quite trusted Obama after all the drones strikes (though I support him on the not quite universal Obamacare, laws to protect LGBTQ and women's rights and other things.)

I know...I keep picturing her last time in the back of that big pickup truck promising cheap gas.

But let me have till say Wednesday.....then I will sink back into despair...

It may have been early exposure to Charlie's Angels/Three's Company, but I have always liked the look of a pant suit.

A commentary on the BBC about it said her main opponent was herself.

As I've been away from North America for so long, could anyone explain the reasons why she has seemingly not connected with the electorate in the last 15+ years?

I'm aware she has had high profile positions, such as senator and Secretary of State but there's nothing that really makes an impression on me either way. I only think of her as a former First Lady.
