They should put the intended travel date, and I would hope they are more vigilant with doing that now there is only a 30-day window to enter the UK.
Just as a reminder though that your travel date can't be more than 3 months from the date you submit the online application, so if you are using a November travel date, you can't apply until that date in August at the very earliest.
