When I go into the visa site it asked if I'm applying for myself or for someone else.  I believe I should select "applying for someone else" as it will be my husband (British Citizen) who's actually applying for me to come live with him, is that right?

No, you are applying for yourself.  He is your sponsor.  You are the applicant.

The question is geared at attorneys/solicitors who are completing the application on behalf of their client.
