I've been in England now for about six weeks.

Hello! I'm relieved to finally be able to live with the love of my life here in England. We are both disabled, in our 50s. I attempted to visit him this time last year and was removed at Heathrow airport, which I didn't expect because he'd had no problem visiting me in the US. I've never traveled, outside of the Caribbean and Mexico, prior to this.

In any event, I sold my small home and spent everything on tickets, an attorney, fees, small wedding, and temporary home for us (in the US) four months. I was amazed at how smoothly things went after that. Suddenly I find myself in England, in a village, county of Sussex. I still can't believe I'm here.

I've been reading. I thought I should introduce myself. This looks like a fun and interesting forum.

Hello and welcome to the forum! So sorry you had a bad first attempt entering. I did too, and after getting an entry clearance visa for the next visit, it has been smooth every time.

There are a lot of great people around here. I am sure you will enjoy your visits to the forum.

Hi, glad you got everything to work out!

o_O why would they deny you entry to the country if you were just trying to visit him? USC are allowed to visit the UK for 90 days aren't they?!

USC can be granted a visa on arrival at a UK airport for up to 6 months. There is no guarantee you'll be given a visa to enter though unless you've applied for a visa and received it in advance.
The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.
