Question for a Friend
« on: September 26, 2015, 06:05:02 PM »
{please move if this is in the wrong section}

I know that sounds like a very funny subject, but it's true.

I'm an american living in the uk and settled here. My best friend here is marrying my good friend back home (long happy story) and they are in the process of a K-1 Visa.

She (my UK friend) just got her police report back and it shows that when she was 18 (9 years ago) she got caught shoplifting (twice) and is concerned that this is going to mess up her chances for a visa. As i've only done the visa process in this direction i don't have much advice for her. I offered to ask here before she had a meltdown so i could hopefully reassure her.

to summarise:

2 shoplifting offences 9 years ago at age 18. first time caught was condoms and she was even brought to the police station. second time caught (a few months later) was clothing and hair dye totalling £40 or so. she was taken to the police station and had to appear in court.

any info or knowledge is very welcome!! Thanks!!
