10 weeks in Oxford

Hi My husband and I are looking into a teaching abroad opportunity. We are looking at Oxford, Paris or Florence. We have been to Oxford a few times and enjoyed it as a vacation.. and the surrounding areas(my parents were English). He will be busy. Im wondering what will I do for ten weeks? is there a community for me to play with?  Gyms to go to.. I see I cannot volunteer anywhere.   What to do?...also for the two of us to go out with.

I can't really help you......it's been almost 30 years since I spent time around Oxford. But as a bit of joke......do NOT watch the tv show Lewis. Everybody does not die in Oxford.

You say your parents were English. Were they British otherwise than by descent?
If so, I think you may be British yourself.

Although.......back then.....I used to play a fair amount of violin....there are some AWESOME sheet music stores there if I remember correctly.
