Tapeworm treatment
« on: December 20, 2015, 09:59:26 AM »
Does anyone know what kind of tapeworm treatment the UK requires for pets entering by air?  I spoke with a lady at Heathrow Animal Reception Centre and she said that most of the tapeworm treatments in the US aren't the kind they require.  She didn't say what kind it is they  want though.   ???

Your local USDA should know as they sign off on the health certificate.

Ring over Pets on Jets - they are the animal reception desk at manchester airport and have been very helpful.

I did get a list of recommended tapeworm, however, no help now. I have to return to the U.S. and pick up my dogs to come in April and that list of things is there. The tapeworm list was provided by my vet ....hmmmmmm let me see if pets on jets confirmed their tapeworm.  I am 90% on the tapeworm being called Bacter

Just confirmed with paperwork PDFs saved in email:

Droncit-Bayer

Just triple check with your Vet, USDA and animal reception

No kidding, I've come to experience we over analyze and supply much moredetailed documentation than is needed.  Turns out they barely read the contents and just stamp approved :/ keep your worries low :)

The lady I talked to really frightened me.  She kept stressing how important it was to have all the paperwork in order and if it's not she said "we'll take the dog off her".  I asked her what she meant and she just repeated they it if off her (my daughter).  I mean, really?  Can they just take the dog??? It's an emotional support dog.  I can see that causing quite a bit of emotional distress!
