How to make a British person mad
« on: January 18, 2016, 07:10:31 AM »
I haven't been blogging as frequently lately, but here's my newest one: Angry in the UK: How to make a British person mad

http://expatclaptrap.com/angry-uk-make-british-person-mad/

Basically I was thinking about how Americans do things that inadvertently cause them to anger British people (like mispronouncing place names) - but what if you decided to make a British person angry on purpose!

"Refer to Sheffield as Shitfield"

I just hope that more people will ignore the fatalism of the argument that we are beyond repair. We are not beyond repair. We are never beyond repair. - AOC

Hilarious post, as always! You're a gifted writer and very insightful. Of course it's all hypothetical since most Americans wouldn't stoop to the petty-minded mockery and snideness that passes for British conversation with Americans. I can't wait until this shitty island is in my rear-view mirror!

Thanks- it's of course just satire. I don't at all think it's a "shitty" island, I just like to tease, and I try to make a point of satirising America nearly as much as the UK, but sometimes it's harder because:
1) America is constantly already satirised by British people/media
2) I live here, and the things that i think are funny/annoying that I encounter every day are... British things.
