We have been summond to Iowa for Christmas, even though we were just back in June.  there are lots of new babies around, so I don't mind.  However, we are being guilt tripped by M/FIL as there will be no one else in the country this year as their other kids have immigrated back to South Africa!

We are traveling to Paris for Christmas.  My mother is flying over from Tennessee to spend the holiday time with us.  I am really looking forward to all of our plans and seeing my mom.

Ooooooh. I'm jealous!!! I went to a wedding at the Burnham Beeches Hotel last year - it's lovely! And just around the corner from us (well, OK, not the corner exactly, but very close!)

We're staying home. We're going to my family's in California for Thanksgiving, then Christmas on our own and then Boxing Day with J's family.

Oh great, I'm so glad to hear that! I've passed it many times, but never been inside. My husband is from Farnham Common & MIL still lives there. They do a Christmas package deal that sounded quite nice. My stepkids will be back in NZ (they leave on 12/23) and we really just wanted to work hard at not letting my MIL get sad or depressed over the holidays.

My dad and his new wife, my mom & her partner, my brother & his wife would all have kicked my tush if I didn't go home to Pa. this first Christmas...so I'm heading to northeastern Pa for at least 1-1/2 weeks.  I probably won't be going home for Christmas every year and my new guy really would love to have me back in town sooner rather than later so I might be back in times for New Year's Eve.  I'm excited to see everyone and spend time with them...but I'll also be happy to be back in London once I return...it's becoming my new HOME.

Well I think you'll all be quite pleased - it's very posh!  ;) And tell your hubby that you have an aquaintance who's husband is born and bred in Gerrards Cross - practically a neighbour!

We're spending Xmas in Lillehammer, Norway.  DH is turning 40 on 17th December, and when I asked him what he wanted, he said "a holiday".  We looked at warm destinations but they all required a flight of more than 4 hours, so we started looking at cold destinations.  Lillehammer sounded a bit out of the ordinary, so off we go!
I'm sorry.  I'm just not cool.

We're heading back to eastern NC for two weeks to spend the holidays with my family.  We did Christmas here last year (the first one I didn't spend with my family!), so it'll be nice to be back there this year.  We're heading back here on the 30th so we can have New Years to ourselves!   ;D

Wow - what a lot of here - there - everywheres.   I'm away this week (which is why I'm not here  ;D ) but I'll look to correlate some of the answers at the weekend.

Going home to my parents since it's just them ....I have no siblings...my husband can't get off work though so no Christmas with him which makes me sad. My parents are financing me too or I would not be able to get home.

Will be in  the GA home since a 5 hour drive from DC to their house was just tiring....

I get to go home for THREE WEEKS!!!  Because of the fabulous holiday schedule at my job... I still can't fathom I'll be getting PAID while I'm gone!
I'll be splitting my time hanging out on the deck in Laguna, overlooking the Pacific, with my folks, and my cat  :\\\'( ;D , and visiting my friends in LA.

I'm very much looking forward to it, but also apprehensive, as it will be my first visit back since my move, and everyone's telling me how hard it will be to come back...  so hopefully I can keep the reality in check and realize I did the right thing!

This is the view I'll have:

I was worried about that, too, when heading back after my first visit home.  It wasn't so bad, though.  It was nice because I got to see everyone again and kind of make sure everything was okay.  I got to see that things are still moving forward even though I'm so far away from my family--made me feel much better about heading back to the UK.  Hopefully you'll have the same kind of experience!  ;)

Thank you for sharing that; I hope so!

All my friends back home are all saying I'm not missing anything, so that helps.
And most of them are still depressed over the you-know-what.
