I've found rooster sauce in Tesco.   :)

Interesting. I think our Tesco sells Flying Goose brand. Same thing as far as I'm concerned or maybe I'm not looking closely enough. ::)

Well even Tesco's own branded sriracha tastes the same to me.  You can tell I'm not a  sriracha connoisseur - I'm sure not fussed  ;D

.....although I do find it interesting when people move to another country and want things like there were back home. I've always just rolled with the punches when living in another country.

In general I have to agree with you, what is the point of moving to another country and longing for something you can't easily get there?  That's why it's so great when we can share information on what is available and where.

For example, I have issues with sleeping and when it's the middle of "one of those nights" old flannel sheets can feel like sandpaper to me.  Hence, the importance of soft flannel sheets, cause my delicate skin is so.... well.... picky! (They called me "The Princess and the Pea" when I was a kid - everything was itchy! I was probably a royal pain in the ......)   :P

Now, the real question is whether my BB&B flannel sheets will stand the test of time, or whether or not I'll have to fork out the big bucks and send for the super soft and wonderful Martha Stewart flannel sheets like my daughter has!  I won't go into a description of those, since I'm pretty sure this is a PG rated forum.  ;)

Here 2 years as of Oct. 1, 2016.

Rooster sauce.....never heard of it. Sriracha I didn't know either.....but when Googling I thought the bottle looked familiar. The only two hot sauces I use these days is Tabasco and Cholula. Might have to get off my butt and do some experimenting with the blender to make something that resembles picante. One thing I have noticed.....I usually go through a fair amount of red pepper flakes. I used to buy the big plastic containers from Costco that would last a couple of months. Whatever pepper they use here is a hell of a lot stronger......I had a salad a couple of weeks ago that made me cry is was so hot (I sprinkle pepper flakes on my salad.....I sprinkled LESS the second salad....even a caveman learns slowly).

I just hope that more people will ignore the fatalism of the argument that we are beyond repair. We are not beyond repair. We are never beyond repair. - AOC

Haha. I love the short forks! I've got very small hands, basically child sized, so the small ones always suited me better. I will still only use those when I'm at my parents' house.

Oh, I have tiny hands... 8 year old boys have had bigger hands than me... I just didn't like the lack of leverage you get with the short forks. My tiny hands tended to end up with whatever messy food I was eating with it.

I've grown to like Cholula.

I've tried a bunch of the hot sauces on the shelves before we moved back.....I narrowed it down to just plain ol' Tabasco and Cholula. For some reason I like Cholula on some things, Tabasco on most things (all melted/hot of course). Tabasco is my fall back on almost everything, but Cholula has something that works better on just a few items. Personal taste always seems an interesting thing to me. You would think that after a zillion years of evolution (unless you are strictly religious of course) that people would like mostly the same things.

I found the common, nationwide department and major chains in the UK to have 1 knife, 1 fork, 2 spoons and in the US to have 1 knife, 2 forks, 2 spoons.  I need that extra fork.  Some here have mentioned ring holders, picture frames, and bedding.  For me it was the fork.  Seriously.  It was, and apparently remains, a real sticking point for me.  I grew up with 5 pieces of cutlery on the dinning table and I couldn't wrap my head around only getting 4 just because I moved.  It was one of the first things I noticed when registering so our US registry had cutlery on it while the UK one had dinnerware.  Like you, my husband couldn't see the big deal.  I struggled to find anything at all and while I'm sure there are cutlery sets like what I was used to in the UK, I couldn't find them at all when we looked 10 years ago and I wanted what I was used to.  So I bought American.  Perhaps they're more common now, but a quick search of Argos, Debenhams, John Lewis, and Denby didn't bring up any.  Robert Welch has some so if we need to replace ours we may well shop there!

Sorry, mine was saying all the different sets I've seen in the US. Most commonly I'd see 1 knife, 1 fork, and 2 spoons and a little bit less often the 1 knife, 2 forks, 2 spoons. The bigger sets of 1 knife, 2 forks and 2 spoons were more expensive and usually only available in 'good' brands.

The truly cheap sets only ever had 1 knife, 1 fork and 1 spoon.

My parents only go for the sets with the extra forks because we'd have huge family dinners with 9+ people at them every weekend so everyone only got 1 knife 1 spoon and 1 fork (of varying sizes) at dinner anyway. It allowed them to get extra forks for less money and not having an inordinate amount of knives and spoons!

When the whole family was over we'd have to wash silverware if we'd have dessert and it needs a fork!

LOL - I'm sure that was about as riveting to your husband as my thread count informational discussion was to mine.  I thought it was informational anyway, I think he suffered injury due to excessive eye rolling.  ;)

My husband thinks I'm weird because I hate the sheets over here! I want 200+ thread count cotton sheets that have fun patterns or even a great solid colour, not just boring white. Is that too much to ask for? Most readily available sets over here are cotton/poly blends that are scratchy. *sigh*

I too hate when flannel sheets get covered in flannel pills. It makes me itch! I can still remember the only flannel sheets I loved as a kid. They were a dusty rose colour with tiny white tulip flowers. I hated the way the looked, (I was anti-pink) but I loved the way they felt.

Do you mean the hangers that are flat but covered in velvet?
You can get 10 packs at Primark for ridiculously cheap! (3.50 GBP)

They come in more colours than just this, it depends on what your Primark has in stock. I've got teal, lime green, mint green and light grey ones.

Yes I love them!! I have only seen them in three packs so I'll have to check primark out. My grandmother bought me a pack of fifty back in the states when they first came out and I've been a fan ever since.  Their perfect for my [to many] cardigans lol

LOL!  30+ years in the UK, and I am still buying the majority of my bedsheets in the USA!  I like patterned sheets, not solid colours, and I've never had much luck finding them here.

I guess I'm not too fussy on bedsheets.  Probably because when I grew up, these things weren't a priority for spending (e.g. not at all), so we had million year old threadbare cheap sheets. So I know no different.   J was the same, so we combined our collection of million year old threadbare cheap sheets when we moved in together.  Towels are the same.  We've now got two really nice (probably what none you of like for sheets) duvets from Debenhams and they feel awesome.  We also got a set of towels from M&S for a wedding gift and wow, they're comfy. That makes me think we should probably have a big ole clean out of the million year old sheets and towels.

I'd get my flat sheets from TJ Maxx or Ross in the states you get name brand price with high thread count for inexpensive. My duvet cover in the states was made for me by my mom. It was a ridiculously expensive thing too, batik fabric is pricey... But I used the same one for like 7-8 years and it was still going strong when I moved. Down comforter and a nice duvet cover, that makes me happy. :)
