Pension contribution
« on: May 05, 2016, 12:01:41 PM »
Hi all

I recently started working in London. My company has a pension program with the company matching 1% of contribution. It is a group personal pension scheme run by Aegon. I was wondering if anyone knows if you can transfer or cash these out if you leave the UK?

I am 26 and not certain I will be here long term. Ideally I'd like to contribute to the pension and get the match but I am not sure if I can transfer or cash it out if I happen to move away down the road. I have looked at the mechanics of the pension but it is quite dense and understandably doesn't cater to this niche expat question.

I worked previously for 5 years in Asia in one role, so I do move, but I am not a big job hopper either!
