That's a coincidence, we watched Breakfast Club last weekend as a family movie night.  The kids enjoyed it, I think they were surprised that such an ancient movie could possibly understand anything about the social dynamics of their school.

I was a bit disappointed when they took The weird girl and made her up to look like a cheer leader, then the jock guy was kissing her in like, 10 minutes.

Not bad, needs more work.

Was that the first time that you've seen Breakfast Club?

No, I saw it a few years back, maybe even when it came out .  I was a bit worried about the dope smoking scene as well.  My kids are 9 and 12 so that took some explaining.

The wife was angry, the kids took it in stride.  I paused the movie and gave a brief reminder to not believe everything you see in a movie.  Hard to keep a straight face to be honest.

Anybody who attended Carowinds theme park in the late 1980's may have seen an employee walking from the canteen, grinning and waving at the people on the monorail.  Holding a joint.

The positive side of that is at least there was one theme park worker that genuinely looked happy!! I know my friends that worked at a theme park in the next state over never actually looked happy on the job! lol

I know from a very good source that this job was a great formative experience for that jolly employee.  Much fun was had!

On graduation night, they invited all the high school seniors to the park so they could do something other than drink and drive.  The park stayed open until 2 am or something like that.  The manager decided to smuggle in some booze and all the employees in that section got hammered.  Unfortunately, they still had to work which is not as fun as it sounds.  High school kids make a pretty crummy work force when drunk.

A few days later, some guy were target practicing with a fully automatic weapon and sent a spray of bullets into the park.  The senior managers were too busy to come prosecute those who sullied senior night.

Obviously this was from a very close source and not at all from you personally!  ;D :P

If it helps, this was my thread originally and I was REALLY bummed about the IHS stuff. This chat has definitely made things better! 8)

Did you guys know that the surface area of an average-sized brick is 79 cm squared?
