Fidelity Investments - venting
« on: June 13, 2016, 02:27:25 PM »
So i just received letters from Fidelity stating that now I've moved outside the US I can no longer buy/sell mutual funds in my IRAs.  Particularly frustrating since I consolidated IRAs from other institutions to Fidelity before i moved to make things more straightforward!  Appears to be a Fidelity rule, not a US rule.  So, I either only trade individual stocks or i move the money to a different institution, argh!

Thanks for sharing this.  My wife's IRA and Roth IRA is with Fidelity and being unable to buy and sell funds within the IRA's will be a real pain.  I believe Vanguard allows non-residents to continue to buy and sell within their IRA's, so I will look into moving her IRA's over. (My IRA's are with Vanguard)
