Recommend a movie for 13 year old girl's birthday party

Not too sure what kind of movies they'd like.

A Cinderella Story is fun, a bit dated since it's texting is 2004... back when you had flip phones and used T9. haha.

I loved Mystery Men, super hero movie.

Pretty Woman was one I loved when I was younger.

LEGALLY BLONDE! Oh, that movie. So good.

Thanks for all the suggestions, the party was a success.  I campaigned hard for Clueless but I couldn't convince them based on the trailer. 

Mean Girls was the final choice and they really seemed to enjoy it.

Mean Girls is a good choice too... less dated than Clueless .

The first time I saw Mean Girls when I was on my study abroad year in the US and we got to see an advanced screening of it on campus before it was officially released .

I thought they might like Mean Girls. It's kind of an updated Clueless, not so much in it's shakespearian glory, but that it deals with cliques and had a huge affect on a generation.

It was before.. oh god, what is her name? The redhead... Lindsay Lohan had her drug and alcohol problems.

It was perfectly at their level, with some mild jokes about periods and sex, but nothing too scary.  It wasn't a Shakespearean drama though. 

I didn't know Clueless is a Shakespeare story.  Which one?   Maybe we'll watch it as a family movie

I was remember that She's the Man is a retelling of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night and 10 things I hate about you was Taming of the Shrew. I got carried away.

I've not read Emma, but I have seen one of the movie adaptations. I just couldn't get into Pride and Prejudice when I tried, so I doubt Emma has much of a shot...

West Side Story was inspired by Romeo and Juliette.
