Biting flies
« on: August 05, 2016, 02:53:34 PM »
Anybody else having trouble this year? I'm hoping they are about done and die a horrible death. The last month they have feasted on my legs and arms. They leave a small pointy hard lump (that itches for days) that lasts for weeks....nearly a month before they start fading. Started using insect repellant that has helped. I do some work (probably illegally) down on the river improving the trail......they throw a party when they see me coming.

Haha, midges!

They love me too! For some reason though, I've been less bothered by them this year.

I don't believe I've received a single bite, but my wife has had a few.  We spend a lot of time outdoors but I think most of her bites have come while gardening rather than walking on the sea cliffs or moors.

Nope....not midges. These are more like small horseflies from where I lived.

Oh, ok.  :) The result sounds pretty much the same?  Have you tried anthisan?

It may help a little.  https://www.anthisan.co.uk/#

Oh yeah.....my wife loves the anthisan. But......although I think it works a little bit for the itching.....the huge/volcano/pimple/hard bumps last forever.

Oh well......the little bastards hopefully will be dying very soon and I can get back to complaining about the weather :)
