They can't actually set up the wifi until September 12 though! Does it usually take so long?

Welcome to England. Everything takes longer, and it probably would no matter which broadband company you get it from.

As for customer service, we've had Sky broadband (they were terrible) and Plusnet (they've been good).

I actually had a similar problem with Comcast when I lived in the US - they initially told me they could set up my TV and broadband in a couple of days but in the end it took almost a month!

I was going to say, it's not exactly speedy to get internet access in a new house in the US either. I remember it taking 3+ weeks for my parents to get their new router and have the internet set up. You just tend to be using your last month of your previous provider while you wait for the new provider to get to your house and get you set up.

I totally understand. It took several weeks to get Internet at our current house. I just don't get why, no one even had to stop by! We just needed the router. It'seems something you wouldn't think needs to take long.
