VSF posatge and sending parcel URGENT
« on: August 31, 2016, 09:28:28 PM »
Hi I posted the other day and was advised that I could use 1 postage label;

1. I am applying for my husbands children and was told to send the applications together in one package. I have original documents in one application and the other photocopies and originals where applicable. They are going in the same package as two separate applications with 2 separate priority payments

2. I have looked at the VSF website and it says this;
Are you applying with your family or a group? If you are a Non-settlement applicant (whose documents must be sent to the UK DMC in New York), you can use only 1UPS Shipping Label for up to 4 applicants. You simply need to add the details of each additional applicant in your group when making the purchase in our Shopping Cart. Simply select “Save and Add Applicant”. Your shopping cart will be updated as per the pricing for a group of up to 4 applicants (see below). Unfortunately, Settlement applicants (whose documents must be sent to Sheffield UK) cannot apply as a part of a group and each individual applicant must purchase his own shipping label.

This states that 2 separate labels need to be purchased but they are going together and returning together so why would I need to pay for 2?
Please can someone confirm that I can send both children's applications in one parcel and just send one postage label?

They keep changing how you can send them using VFS, so I don't even understand how you're supposed to ship more than one with VFS anymore.

One minute you can send as many applications weighing up to 5lbs in total using just one shipping label, but now it says you have to purchase a separate shipping label for each application (and I think they are implying that you have to ship them all separately too).

Honestly, my advice would be not to use VFS Global at all and just mail the applications yourself.

For the outbound shipping:

- Just take the package to a UPS or DHL store and ship it to Sheffield

For the return shipping:

- Create an online account with either UPS or DHL and include your online account number in the package with your documents.
- When your visas have been processed, Sheffield will simply charge the return shipping to your online account.

I would do but I've already purchased the VSF return back to the States.
Its costing a fortune, I'm literally broke now.
I spent $250000 fighting for full custody and now all this  :\\\'(
On top of it I flew my husband out to Vermont on Monday to let the boys stay with family until their visas come back. I kept the supporting documents with me because I was told to send the package from the UK and then I'm being told I should send supporting documents and passports separate (Passports/biometrics from US). I've been told by Lara on here that would be crazy. They will just take weeks to match the two deliveries up.
This is the most stressful week ever. If we mess thinks up I don't know what we will do they are staying with my husbands elderly parents one of which is dying and DCF has deemed their mother unfit so the boys would be in State custody.

Oh, okay - didn't realise you'd already purchased it.

In that case, I would send both applications in the same package, and include the one shipping label you have already purchased.

If it turns out that you actually need to include 2 shipping labels, UKVI should contact you to ask for another one. If not, then you haven't spent extra money on it.

Yes, sending in one package has always been the case in the past - UKVI have always advised that documents from the same family should be sent in the same package: 1) because they share documents, and 2) because the financial requirement that must be met increases depending on how many people in the family are applying

VFS is very frustrating at the moment because it seems the rules for shipping change every 5 minutes. This whole 'separate labels' thing has only appeared in the last few weeks, out of nowhere... so I really don't know what the 'correct' way to do it is anymore.

Definitely do what loans has advised, it will be fine.

And definitely make sure you send everything in one package and don't send the biometrics and passports separate from the supporting documents.
