heads up - UPS won't allow different delivery
« on: September 06, 2016, 05:39:01 PM »
Just a warning in case any of you are like me, and find you need to stay somewhere else before your visa comes in. I have to drive 2 hours one way, and sit and wait for potentially 12 hours or more, in my car, in the midwest heat, waiting on UPS to arrive. I signed up for their 'My Choice' program, thinking I could at least get a 2 hour delivery window, since they won't allow you to change the destination address on packages coming from outside the US.

Nope. I thought it was because my account wasn't fully activated (which they don't tell you, you need to put in some PIN number they give you, who knows when, since it was never mentioned in any sign up emails I received, only saw it today, and then they say it's 2-5 business days for them to send you a letter with the number). That wasn't the problem either.

UPS will not allow a 'return' package to be eligible for any 'My Choice' 'benefits'. Lots of quotations there I know, but this service neither gives you any choice, nor benefits.

Please someone correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the visa return label have to go to the address listed on the application? Which means if you're like me, you're pretty much sol as UPS is totally unwilling to help.

When you pre-pay I assume it is the address you used when you bought it. Have you rang them and explained that you have moved since then? Can they not even keep it at their local UPS store for you?

They should be able to receive it at your local store.
