Man, it was an epic battle this year, but it's done now.

I got to vote against Trump and for legal marijuana.  Result!

I got my ballot last week!  Still have to research some of the local candidates still but should be fun.  Not so much fun as legalized marijuana...

I have to admit that I didn't research the rest of the ballot and voted straight democrat.  I didn't research the referendums either.  Sorry Arizona if I screwed it up!

Just sent mine off too :)

Got to vote on the death penalty in NE too as the governor doesn't want to accept the law, even after the legislature overturned his veto. Definitely stopped researching all the judges after about 2 though :D

Sent mine off last week to California.  I only voted for Hillary and not any of the local or statewide races, as I'm worried that the state will ding me for state tax if I vote for anything except the presidential race!

What?  There can't be a way the state can make tax decisions based on how you vote !  I'm almost certain that my AZ ballot had nothing about me, not even my name.  There was a separate paper where I signed that it's my ballot and I can vote, but the content of the ballot is nobody's business.

from the official US State Dept bulletin about US citizens voting from abroad:

"Voting and Taxes

Voting for candidates for federal offices does not affect your federal or state tax liability. Voting for candidates for state or local offices could affect your state tax liability. Consult legal counsel if you have questions."

Oooo, this is interesting.  I have never payed much attention because my voting address was not an incorporated area...

Yep.....might make a difference for me as well. I still won't vote this time around....but this would make it a possibility next time. But....I've been zapped believing the govt a few times before.
