FIANCE VISA SPONSOR LETTER UK READ AND HELP?
« on: October 18, 2016, 04:13:59 PM »
here is a sample of our sponsor letter:  any recommendations would be helpful thank you we plan to apply soon

To the Entry Clearance Officer / To Whom it May Concern,

Re. Fiance visa application for (fiance), D.O.B XX/XX/XX

This letter is to confirm my support of (fiance) application to enter the UK as the fiance of a British Citizen.

This is a letter of sponsorship to state that I, XXX, am sponsoring my fiancé, Holly XXXXX, in her application for United Kingdom settlement, through a fiancé visa.

I met Holly in August in 2015, where we had met online on a website called MFC, Holly was online and I decided to start to talk to her, Holly’s personality immediately attracted me she was very confident, and we could talk about anything and she was so open with me, she also has a very infectious laugh. Holly is also incredibly attractive with her beautiful beaming smile and big brown eyes. We started talking over chat for a couple of days they it quickly moved into skype calls where we would talk over skype for hours upon hours until the point I needed to go to sleep, I couldn’t get enough of speaking to her I just wanted to talk nonstop, with the five-hour time difference it was hard but we’d try to make it easier on each other by Holly waking up early to speak to me and I’d stay up later to speak to her.
After two weeks of continuous talking over skype I knew I wanted to be with Holly, so I asked her if she wanted to be my girlfriend, which she had agreed to even with the distance we felt so close together. We had discussed that it was going to be difficult because of the distance but we were both adamant and we were going to make it work and not let distance stop us.
On the 19th of March 2016 Holly came to visit me in Birmingham for a long weekend, we spent the weekend at my parents’ house, we went out every day trying to do as much as we could together for example we went Warwickshire, Stratford-upon-Avon, Birmingham city Centre, Solihull city Centre. Being with Holly in person was amazing and when it came time for her to return to New Jersey it was heart breaking. I didn’t want her to leave, we waited until the last possible moment we could then she had to leave. I remember standing at the area next to the security watching as she walked through until I couldn’t see her anymore, one of the hardest things in my life was seeing her walk away.
Holly and I have visited each other a total of five times and the locations are as follows; Birmingham UK, London UK, Iceland, New York USA, Birmingham UK. Each trip varied in time scale. I do plan to go back to USA in late November to accompany her on her fiancé visa to the UK.
After the time we had spent together myself and Holly thought it was time to take our relationship to the next level. I spoke with my family about my intentions to propose to Holly while I’m in America. On Holly’s birthday, on the 24th of May 2016 I proposed to Holly where she had accepted and we became engaged.
On that night of the 24th of May we had started by going to a meal in Times Square, New York and the restaurant was called Tony’s Di Napoli, the meal started with Mozzarella En Carrozza, then was followed by a penne ale vodka, we then moved onto a few bars having a few drinks I had a destination in mind where I wanted to propose, so I kept saying we should move to another pub, until we reached Bryant park, Holly was a few steps in front of me and I asked holly to sit down on one of the chairs which was situated next to the parks water fountain.  I got on one knee and asked Holly if she would marry me where she gracefully accepted and as I stood up to kiss her she leaped into my arms.
We intend to marry at the Coventry Registry office, we currently have an intent to marry on the 16th of December 2016. We have decided to have the ceremony at the Coventry registry office in the manor room which we will be booking with an advance form upon acceptance of the fiancé visa. We hope to be husband and wife by the start of February, upon where we wish to apply for the FLR visa.
We will be living with my parents until myself and Holly decide where we would like to live so we will be doing some house shopping in the areas of Solihull and we hope to get somewhere to rent.
Holly and I are incredibly close we share the same interests and have the same desires in life; for example we both like travelling, want a family together, and love making amazing new memories. We both work very hard within our fields, in work with my field I started off as an Apprentice Quality technician now being fully qualified and being a key member within my department with the help of an educational background and Holly having two bachelor’s degrees within the financial and business side.
Hollys dedication and determination and fighting spirit to not stop until she gets what she wants is an amazing attribute which I’m taken by, Holly always knows what she wants and she will find a way to get it, she is an inspiration to me, she has helped me into the man I’ve always wanted to be. If this application for the fiancé visa is successful, we want to build a life together within the UK and finally embrace the fact there is no longer a need to have to say goodbye, in time we want to build a family and finally make that happy home we’ve always wanted.

Yours Faithfully

At the moment, your letter is way too long as doesn't actually address how you meet each of the visa requirements... which is the whole point of the letter - to address each section of the application form.

The letter should state:

- How you meet the requirement to be a sponsor (you are a UK citizen)

- How you meet the financial requirement: your current employment and salary, and what financial category you are applying under

- How you meet the accommodation requirement: where you will live in the UK

- A very short, 1-paragraph history of your relationship. No real personal details, just dates of when and where you met, how you communicate when apart, dates of trips you visited each other, when you plan to marry and why you want to live in the UK together.

- A list of the supporting documents you are including yourself to show you meet the above requirements

_________________________________________________ ___________________________

So, it should be something like:

To the Entry Clearance Officer,

I am writing to confirm my support of Holly X's application to enter the UK on a marriage visa. I am a UK citizen and have lived in the UK since birth.

I am currently employed as a (Job Title), earning Y salary with Z company and have been working there/earning this salary since A date. Therefore I meet Category (list category letter) of the financial requirement and am including the required supporting documents to show this.

Once Holly has her visa, we will live at my parents' house in the UK (give address), which is a X-bedroom flat/house/etc. I am including my parents' Land Registry document and their latest mortgage statement, along with a letter from them giving Holly permission to live there and showing the property will not be overcrowded.

I met Holly online in August in 2015, and we started a relationship on Y date. In March 2016 Holly came to visit me in Birmingham and since then we have visited each other a total of five times: she visited me in the UK on X, Y and Z dates, I visited her in New York for A dates and we met in Iceland for B dates. While we are apart, we stay in regular contact via Skype (and any other methods of contact you have). We got engaged on 24th May 2016 and we intend to marry at the Coventry Registry office, with a currently planned wedding date of 16th December 2016. We wish to settle in the UK because (give your reasons here - for example, she would prefer to live in the UK, I have a steady job, I have children/elderly parents I look after etc.).

I am including the following documents in support of Holly's application to show we meet the financial, accommodation and relationship requirements:

Yours Sincerely,

Your Name

My work contract
6 months pay slips and bank statements
Letter from my parents inviting her to stay
Whatsapp, skype, Instagram screen shots
Photos of us together
hotel stays, boarding passes and tickets

what should we list on the letter as supporting documents without going overboard

Have a look at the required documents.  You are missing a few items.  You MUST have a letter from your employer confirming employment type, length of service, current salary, etc.  You'll also want your parent's land registry document and a mortgage statement.  Your fiancé's passport and a copy of yours.  Wedding plans, etc.

You should list every single required document that is being included by you personally - basically, everything that will be in your application package that you have provided for the visa

Financial requirement:
- 6 months of original payslips showing a pre-tax salary of £1,550 or more on every single one
- 6 months of original bank statements showing the deposit of every payslip
- A letter from your employer (dated within 28 days of the online application date) stating ALL of the following:
1) current position and salary
2) length of employment
3) length of time earning current salary
4) type of employment
- Original job contract
- Latest P60

Accommodation
- letter of permission from your parents for Holly to live there and stating it will not be overcrowded (i.e. number of bedrooms/living rooms and total number of people in property)
- your parents' Land Registry document
- your parents' latest original mortgage statement (if they have a mortgage)

Relationship:
- 1 or 2 photos of you together
- boarding passes from trips to see each other
- letters/cards you've mailed each other
- 1-2 sheets of paper showing screenshots of Skype call logs covering the length of your relationship (i.e. 1 call per week in a list)
- 1-2 sheets of paper showing screenshots of Whatsapp call/message logs covering the length of your relationship (i.e. 1 message per week in a list) - no message content should be included if at all possible

I wouldn't include anything from Instagram.

Evidence of intent to marry (whatever you have of these):
- email correspondence with Coventry Registry Office asking about possible wedding dates or a provisional booking
- picture/receipts for the dress/rings
- a wedding invite example
etc.

I did my Fiance application in March this year and luckily I was granted an Entry Clearance for 6 months under Marriage/ Fiance visa and currently preparing for my first Further Leave to Remain Marriage application
I remember wondering what to have included in my Sponsorship( Invitation Letter)
Each case is different but I would like to believe that the Home Office like brief, well worded explanations without missing the key requirements

On your invitation letter keep it simple and direct just state the duration that you have known your fiancee, how you met her and that you are hoping she can visit you on a certain date so you can show her around and she can get to meet your family if she hasn't been to the UK before

As for supporting documents you do not necessarily have to write them down on your invitation letter but your fiancee must take them with her during appointment. Get as much documents as you can from pictures(I did almost 30 different pictures from his previous visits) flights itineraries documenting his trips as well as boarding passes, tickets vacation receipts and general receipts even for meals, print Whatsapp chats,Skype chats and if you talk on the phone and you can print that's good too if you have ever sent each other cards,or gifts use them with the envelopes showing the addresses

Do not limit your supporting documents as they will help prove the existence of your relationship

Each case is different but I would like to believe that the Home Office like brief, well worded explanations without missing the key requirements

Yes, this is true.

However, I have to disagree with some of what you've said (I've been advising on the exact documents required for a fiance visa application made in the US for almost 10 years):
Quote
As for supporting documents you do not necessarily have to write them down on your invitation letter but your fiancee must take them with her during appointment.

There is no visa appointment for a fiance visa application in the US.

All the documents must be mailed to Sheffield for processing and therefore everything the sponsor is sending should be listed clearly in the letter.

Quote
Get as much documents as you can from pictures(I did almost 30 different pictures from his previous visits)

This is not correct.

Only 1 photo is required, simply to show you have met in person. You can maybe include 2 photos if you have been together for several years.

Quote
flights itineraries documenting his trips as well as boarding passes, tickets vacation receipts and general receipts even for meals,

Again, not needed. Only boarding passes should be included, to show you physically travelled to see each other.

Tickets, receipts, meals etc. are unnecessary and will only clutter the application.

Quote
Whatsapp chats,Skype chats and if you talk on the phone and you can print that's good too if you have ever sent each other cards,or gifts use them with the envelopes showing the addresses

Most of this is fine, but you should not include more than 1-2 sheets of paper with screenshots for each communication type (Skype, Whatsapp etc.).

Cards/letters can be included, but you don't need to include the envelopes.

Quote
Do not limit your supporting documents as they will help prove the existence of your relationship

Actually, less is more for the visa. DO limit your relationship documents.

As long as you have the minimum amount of the required documents, anything else will just clutter the application and make more work for the ECO processing the visa.

Just include:
- 1 or 2 photos
- boarding passes from your trips
- letters/cards mailed to each other (no envelopes)
- 1-2 sheets of paper for each communication type showing screenshots of call/message logs covering the duration of the relationship.

Plus evidence of plans to marry in the UK.

In terms of your letter - I'm a little confused because it says it was for a visit visa, but a fiance visa is NOT a visit visa. It is a settlement visa, not for visiting, but for moving to the UK permanently.

So, the letter is not to invite your fiance for a 6-month visit, it is to sponsor them to move permanently to the UK to marry you and stay there.

Council tax and utility bills should NOT be included, because they do not prove homeownership.
