Glad you made it in.  Fingers crossed for the BRP.  They aren't always there....  let's hope yours is NOT one of those!  Keep us updated.   :D

Hi all, just another update from me. Took a flight to thr uk yesterday. Through the border this morning and straight to the post office to collect my BRP.  Post office says the BRP hasn't arrived yet (my letter says it should be ready for collection today) Now I'm sitting near the post office waiting for the BRP to arrive. Im supposed to be back in my USA work on Thursday with a Wednesday morning flight back so my fingers are crossed the BRP actually shows up today.

Enjoy your flying visit!  :)
Here's hoping it arrives today. My fingers crossed for you too!

RachelSandwich, did you eventually get your brp?  How long did it take?  My husband and I are in the same boat.  We can only take 4 days off to fly from CA to the UK to pick up my brp because we are leaving 2 small children with my mother-in-law.  I am afraid we will get there and there will be no brp.  We were planning to call the post office first but someone on the forum today said they won't give out this info. due to privacy issue.

Just curious, when did they say brp was going to be at the post office and when did you come?  We are trying to book the flight as late as possible but it's not a guarantee we will get the brp.  Your help is greatly appreciated!

I think you missed Rachel's post up-thread. She did get it.  :)

Appreciated.

As a matter of interest, since some of the posts ask about appealing a spouse visa application, for example, there are plans to increase the cost.  Here is the link to an article I came across.  I was also told in the summer by an immigration adviser about this:

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2016/sep/15/uk-immigration-and-asylum-tribunal-fees-to-rise-by-500

That's the tribunal fees, not the visa fees. It's just another part of the 'service being funded by the people who use it' instead of being funded by the taxpayers.
