A righteous bloke

Normallly I don't do this sort of thing, but if you're in South East England, it's a good idea to keep Ian's contact details handy.

Ian (the male of a UK/Mexican couple) is a one-man moving/removals artist.  He's Brit, but lived in Chicago for a long time.

We originally booked him for 5AM to bring some stuff from Marylebone to Essex, and it was done.  BAM like that.  He brought the stuff over, and then had the foresight to change all the locks for an extra £25, costs included.

And when my car was massively vandalized, all windows broken, headlights smashed, inside completely a disaster.  And the stupid police who can only say it's a safety hazard...  Cheeeesh.  So I called Ian and BAM he shows up at 2AM tows it away and gets it sorted.

My wife is commissioning him to put in a new front door for our Essex house and to pull up the hedges in our front yard.  I'm sending him down to Sussex in January when our kitten is ready for pick up.

Hence this recommendation, which may be against the rules of the forum, but you're better off knowing about him than not.  I have put his contact deets at http://www.londonelegance.com/a2b  Highly recommended...

Apologies to Marlespro if it's against the rules, but Americans in SE England should know about it anyway...

I don't mind it being up here garry, thanks for the recommendation, I need to go do a quick peek through the advertising rules though... worse case scenario I'll pop this in Classifieds but really - - - I don't have a propblem with it being here. I mean, it is your personal experience and I've recommended places in other threads as well! :)

As always, thanks so much for your brain and your contrubutions, you are a star. !

edited to add: You are A diddly OK in my book, Garry, as I don't consider this an ad but a recommendation. Thanks again.

I've actually recently set up a Best of British recommendations section of our links directory. If anyone would like to recommend a business or service in the UK, one that you've been more than satisfied with, feel free to post their details in the Best of British section, http://www.uk-yankee.com/links. If they don't have a website, remove the "http://" from the website address/url field and include their contact details in the description. :)
