Still no decision email.. If I don't receive one tomorrow I won't be spending Christmas with my husband :(

It looks like things have slowed down significantly for everyone. What a shame, I hope we get some more updates soon!

Oh Dear,  I have been watching and waiting for your updates.  Yes indeed it appears the process has slowed down.  No chance I will have my husband in Ireland for Christmas.  Hoping you get your communication soon.  Hang in there and keep us posted with any updates.

The waiting is killing me. I realized that applying right before Christmas meant it would take longer, and that the likelihood I'd have an answer by now was slim to none. But dear gosh I'm going crazy just waiting.

Oh I hear you!  The stress is unreal.  Everyday we hope for something.  I am thinking it could be early Jan before we hear anything.

I know how you feel. It seems like NO ONE on this forum who applied for a spousal visa has received anything in several days now. Hopefully there are some updates before Christmas, the stress is unbearable.

I'm hoping that people who sent their application after December 1st don't have to wait until after January but that may be the case :(

I received a decision email this morning, thankfully. But I've run into something worrying:
When I submitted my application originally, the NHS fee didn't show in my bank account. I called my bank and asked them if the transaction even went through and they said yes, the person on the other end simply hasn't "taken" it yet. My bank account is still showing that they haven't "taken" the fee. I am worried that this means I may be dealing with a rejection :(

Great news about the email!

Is there anything about the application that has you worried?  The visa is a tick-box application.  If you tick all the boxes, you get the visa.  Did you submit the required documentation?  Do you meet the requirements?

If so, it's probably just a timing issue that the fee hasn't come out (though a bit odd, I'll admit).  You'll know very soon.  Hopefully the extra holiday mail won't delay the package in coming back to you!  Keep us posted!

I submitted all of the documentation and met the requirements for sure. My husband is self-employed so we double checked the financial requirements list and made sure we had everything done correctly. It seems that self-employed applications are more prone to being rejected though. Thank you for your swift reply KFdancer!

Hello!  I am so happy you have got your decision mail.  I believe I am correct in saying it has taken 13 working days from your confirmation mail to the decision mail.  I also believe it was 13 working days for Craig's application to be processed.  Therefore I am going to use this timeline as a guide for our application.  It could be 4 January before we get our decision mail.

Hopefully you have nothing to worry about with the NHS Fee.

Hopefully in the next few days you will receive your letter and your mind will be at rest.  :-)

Look forward to hearing from you soon and the best of luck :-)

Hi polly, yes thirteen days sounds about correct. Thank you for your support. I hope you receive something sooner than that! At least it seems that they are still on top of things, albeit a bit longer than we were expecting. I will post as soon as I get my visa in the mail!

Self-employed is a bit trickier, just because of the volume of information that has to be provided (and it having to be from an accountant and audited, etc.).  But if you included everything, then you truly do not need to worry.

His TAXABLE income was greater than £18,600?  In other words gross income minus allowed expenses was higher than £18,600?  That's the one thing that seems to catch self-employed people out.  (Their taxable income, after they deduct expenses is under £18,600.)

Yes, his taxable income was nearly double the financial requirement. His accountant helped us with the finances and even provided a cover letter explaining all of the documents. And his business account and statements are in the name of the business so that won't be an issue. I hope you are right, KFdancer. This is agonizing!

Sounds like you have NOTHING to worry about and are about to get a fantastic Christmas present.   ;D

It is a shame that they no longer give the decision in the email.  I can only imagine how anxious you must be while waiting!

Trying to stay optimistic! You are a true hero, KFdancer. The forum is very lucky to have you!
I wish the email said the decision as well. I presume they stopped because too many people were trying to reply to the email and they got sick of it? Haha

The visas used to be processed in NYC.  They had the decision then (and still do for the visas processed there).  When they moved the processing to Sheffield, the generic emails started.  Guess it's just the British way!
