Congrats in adavance. They haven't said anything and when I inquired on the 29th it said decision was made. This is nerve wrecking.
Oh wow hopefully you will hear something soon, the enquiry people gave me a false update. They said the application has been delayed meanwhile they already sent it out

After reaching day 60 and basically having a fit. I was informed I did not pay return fee for my passport via Dhl ( which I did). My lawyers were told we have to make an additional payment. Right before we were going to pay again ( I didn't care I just wanted my passport) we receive within minutes of each other. The decision made email and the dispatch email. I assume it was a case of misadministration. So probably Monday I will know visa status. Thanks guys for helping keep me pseudo sane. Prayers up blessings down.

Visa refused on grounds that we are long distance and they think we are related. Thank you for all your input and support. I'm not sure if an appeal is even worth it.

Wait, what?  How do they expect you to not be long distance?

I'm sorry it was refused.  :(

The response was so ambiguous. I hVe a question. In the appendix two there's a part they ask have you been living in a relationship akin to marriage what is the correct response for that.

I'm not sure if there was a "correct" response to 1.19.  We put "Not applicable" for it and were approved, because we had been long distance for almost 2 years when we applied.

For 1.21 "Have you lived with your partner in a relationship akin to marriage at any time?" we put yes, and in the box wrote "We lived together in [city] before I came back to the US, prior to my visa expiring in January 2015.   We will live together again once I have a new visa."  We did live together then.

I don't know what the correct answers are, or even if there are any.  That's just what we put.  I don't know what they're looking for or if they even can look for something specific--I assume everyone's application has different circumstances and they account for that.

Wel those are the two questions she quoted. My boyfriend and I met in high school. From 2004-2006 we were in the same country but we were teenagers we obviously didn't live together. 2007 I left to come to Canada and he was meant to follow but due to unforeseen circumstances he couldn't and ended up going to the uk. So now we have been long distance since then. Visiting each other and with work and school we would see each other for months and stay together but not years. I'm 27 so I'm not sure how they expected us to have lived together. I eacplaines that in a statement I made and so did my lawyer but it seems the officer that handled my case only looked at the appendix two then went on to say we are related which is laughable because I was very generous with email and picture dates back. I didn't expect this at all. It's very unfair. He can't come to Canada he was refused entry now I can't go to him so what do they want us to do. Break up. Smh

Very sorry to hear about your refusal.  Can you post the exact wording of your refusal (eliminate personal details)?  Sometimes the refusal isn't what it may seem on the surface.

99% of applicants will NOT have lived together prior to a visa being granted.

Did you include a photo of the two of you proving you've met?

I'm curious why they think you are related.  That's one I haven't heard before!

Best to start a new thread.  We'll help you get to the bottom of this!

"At question 1.16 " if you are unmarried or same sex partner have you been living in a relationship akin to marriage of civil partnership you stated no. At question 1.19 have you lived with your sponsor in a relationship akin to marriage or a civil partnership at any time you answered no. ( perhaps we should have put na but we explain why not in the boxes they offer under that question). Then it went on to say " I am not satisfied that you are not involved in a consanguineous relationship with your sponsor ( I am floored by this one). I have plenty picture from high school from every time I have been to visit even the most recent visit on July. I sent over 50 pics. Emails dating as far as 2008. Whatsapp chats skype logs.

Which type of settlement visa did you apply for?

From that snippet it sounds like they thought you were applying for a Unmarried Partner visa... which requires you to have legally lived together in the same country (and the same house) for a minimum of 2 years before applying for the visa. And since you haven't lived together yet, that would have been an automatic refusal for an Unmarried Partner visa.

If you were not applying for an Unmarried Partner visa, then it shouldn't matter whether or not you' e lived together before.

Adding to my reply above - I just had a quick look through your previous posts and I notice that you mentioned you were applying for a spousal visa, but in recent posts, you call your sponsor your boyfriend - if you are not married yet, then you don't qualify for a spousal visa.

If you are planning to marry in the UK in the next 6 months, then you would have applied for a fiancé visa, but that has no IHS charge (and you mention paying for the IHS charge)

If you aren't married and aren't planning to marry, then you must have legally lived together in the same country for at least 2 years in order to qualify for an Unmarried Partner visa.
