Congrats to everyone who has finally received their visas:D!

Just a friendly reminder for people with spousal visas not to book any flights that travel through Dublin, Ireland (or any other Republic of Ireland airport). They are usually the cheapest flights, but as there are no immigration controls between Ireland and the UK, your visa will not be stamped... and without that stamp you may not be able to pick up your BRP card.

Thank you! Good to know. Just booked my flight and I'm leaving tomorrow night! Woohoo! Does my husband need to come with me when I pick up my BRP or can I do that on my own? :)

Grace how are you getting most of your things there? Suitcases or did you mail anything?

2 suitcases and a heavy backpack. But my husband is here so I'm cheating and putting some of my things in his suitcase too :P I think buying an extra suitcase (my airline charged $50) is cheaper than mailing stuff. A friend of mine mailed me popcorn in the UK and 4 tiny bags cost her $30!

Hello all! Just posting my timeline!

31 October - online visa application (spouse) with Priority Service
3 November - Biometrics appointment
3 November - shipped to Sheffield vis UPS
8 November - Application received email
9 November - Decision has been made email
11 November - Received passport with visa sticker

We chose 20 December as our move date and my visa was stamped 23 Dec - 22 Jan. We are moving our dog too and weren't made aware by the pet relocation company that they have "no travel" dates from 21 Dec to 9 Jan, so we aren't actually traveling until 12 January. We're a bit sad to not be there for Christmas, but this gives us a bit more time to get things sold and settled here. We can't complain because we're just too overjoyed that we finally finished this process!!! :)

Thank you!! It was so much quicker than we expected! We had prepared ourselves for a much longer wait.

Pet Relocation (based in Texas). We're flying from Kansas City.
