Hi Susie they're little brown beans used in various Mexican dishes. I just bought some canned ones from Tesco (in the organic section) and I've previously bought dried ones from Fresh & Wild.

You could try Holland and Barrett or other healthfood shop. Fresh & Wild is a small chain of organic shops. I haven't seen them anywhere else.  You might be able to find them online somewhere but I don't know where.

I have found them dry at Sainsbury's.. off and on at Tescos both dry and tined.  Mostly in the organic section um and at our local organic farm shop (which unless you live in the SW is not going to help you much.) Good luck.

My daddy swears by a pot of pinto beans, corn bread and buttermilk.  Keeps him happy. :)

Yep Cascode they have been hiding it amongst the pulses and other fiberous good for you things..... though you have to be careful or you might wind up with a bit of wind... definately not as nice as the other thing you mentioned.... ;) though quite a relief in it's own way... ;D
