Why would a young Mexican woman in the US on student visa undertake to marry a US citizen partly to facilitate Green Card and then after 3 months of marriage declare she wants out -- no negotiations? 

Why would a young Mexican woman in the US on student visa undertake to marry a US citizen partly to facilitate Green Card and then after 3 months of marriage declare she wants out -- no negotiations?

She decided that marriage for the sake of a green card wasn't worth it? She fell out with the husband? She decided she didn't want to be so tied to the US?

Why does anyone decide to do the things we do?

After 5 years of marriage, my ex told me that he wasn't happy and wanted a divorce.  That was LITERALLY the only explanation I ever received.  He wasn't happy.  The end.

Lots of things in life don't make sense.  We had a member caught in the 5 month backlog of visa processing this summer.  She and her husband had been back and forth dozens of times over the years.  Had a big custody battle with her ex to be able to bring her son with her.  One week after arriving on her long sought after visa, he told her he didn't love her and wanted a divorce.  Sometimes things just make NO SENSE!

It takes two people to get married, but only one to get divorced.
