2017 Timeline
« on: January 04, 2017, 02:48:54 PM »
It's been a while since a new timeline thread has been started, so here I am to do it!

PRIORITY Spouse
App submitted online: 3 January
Biometrics submitted: 4 January (walk-in at Manhattan ASC)
UPSed to Sheffield: 4 January (using VFS labels)

And now I wait. I think the guy at the UPS store thought I was crazy insisting on packing the application myself and then writing SETTLEMENT PRIORITY on basically every possible spot in huge letters.

Hi Mack

What time did you get your confirmation email? Just my package arrived there this morning according to UPS and I haven't got mine yet. To be fair, it has only been a couple of hours since they delivered it, but I'm anxious!

Boo--no confirmation email for me today. I worried that I didn't write PRIORITY SETTLEMENT on it dark enough, but given that the box was covered with it anyway I think it's probably more likely they're just a little behind! Hopefully I'll get it Monday.

Your package only arrived this morning - give it some time!

Normally it takes up to 2 days after the package has been received to get a confirmation email (and that's when they aren't a bit behind), so I wouldn't necessarily expect one today anyway.

Was taking about two months to get the confirmation email this summer.   ;)  You know it arrived.  It WILL be processed.

Besides watching this thread :) are there any ways to estimate how long it will take for an application submitted in January? My husband doesnt think that Priority will be worth it at this time of year, but I'd like more evidence on how long it could take without it.

Not really. Truth of the matter is, not many people apply in January, which is why it's the perfect time to apply. :)
The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

Second half of January is usually 1-3 days for priority and about a week or so non-priority.  It is truly the best time to apply.  I'd save the money and have a nice weekend away instead, but that's just me.  For some people, priority is the only way to go.

Yes--I'm just impatient.

To be honest, I probably wouldn't have done priority if I hadn't already added the cost of it in my mind when we were planning on applying in November.

This week is sort of like a bumper week to the holidays - there are still plenty of people out at my work, so they may still be short-staffed/getting up to speed and who knows how much mail arrived when everyone was out.

Thanks, thats made me feel better about not doing priority. It would be nice to have the money for something else. Hoping to mail it in by Jan 20 or so.

Any estimates as to the rough timeline for processing in the second half of Feb? I'm also conflicted about whether the priority fees are worth it.

No one really knows for sure but it's likely to be pretty fast - it doesn't really start getting busier until March or April.

I'd say, at worst maybe 2-4 weeks non-priority and 1-2 weeks priority. At best, 1-2 days priority, 1 week non-priority.
