Who's up for Beers in London on Thursday?
« on: January 10, 2017, 01:53:22 PM »
Would anyone like to join HMS Seahorse and I for a few beers on Thursday?  We are meeting at this pub near Waterloo:

The Kings Arms
http://thekingsarmslondon.co.uk/

25 ROUPELL STREET, LONDON SE1 8TB

I'll be there at 6.

Look for a 50 year old American computer programmer and a Seahorse.

Son of Sailor, this means you!

When you get there I will have left a series of clues.
I just hope that more people will ignore the fatalism of the argument that we are beyond repair. We are not beyond repair. We are never beyond repair. - AOC

Have a feeling this tale ends with "... and that's how we captured the Wild Man of East Anglia, mistakenly blew up Parliament and got these really cute matching friendship bracelets."

It was good fun, HMS Seahorse drank me under the table.

Nope.   Probably for the best as HMS Seahorse does indeed have a mouth like a sailor on shore leave!

And I was talking a load of rubbish as well.

The way I remember it, we were the picture of decorum. Then again, the night starts to fade from the fourth pint ...

More importantly... what beers were you drinking?!

You speak of priorities that touch my heart.

I was on the Thames Surf IPA -- http://www.bellevillebrewing.co.uk/#!beers -- and jimbocz was drinking Blue Moon.

I almost regret not coming, despite or better yet specifically because jimbocz is someone I so rarely agree with; if only to see if we could reach an accord, any accord at all. Seahorse has a way with words I admire, and alcohol has renowned tongue loosening qualities.

random picture of a seahorse from my "I'm an animal" collection

Maybe next time, if I'm not otherwise engaged in the Kingdom and if you don't mind potentially libellous (slanderous?) speech bubbles in the aftermath. And if you’ll have me and my dreadful pub orange juice. The fact that I'm teetotal would make me the designated boring person. My inability to become intoxicated (I'm high on life! is never a conversation starter) has often been the source of internal speculation as to why on earth I chose this of all countries in which to make a new life. Cheers.
