Best premium service centres in the UK?
« on: February 22, 2017, 06:32:53 PM »
Hello,

I will be applying for my FLR(M) 2nd visa in April. My solicitor has advised me that service centres outside of London (so, NOT Croydon) are much more pleasant and easier to get appointments. Does anyone have any particularly positive views of any premium service centres that they can share? I'm considering Liverpool, Cardiff, or Glasgow.

Many thanks!

Go to the one that's most convenient!  I've been to Croydon twice and had pleasant, friendly experiences.  I'd certainly go again.  And as the cost is so insanely high for an in-person appointment, there isn't ever any problem getting an appointment for when you want.  I even went on a Saturday last time so I didn't need to take off work.   :)

Is there a reason why you are using a solicitor?  We usually only recommend it if you have a serious criminal conviction or a prior overstay.

I've been to the Croydon centre a couple of times over the years and found the experience to be frankly miserable. I'd prefer to avoid it if I can.

I'm using a solicitor because I wanted to get some specific advice about ILR and citizenship timelines that I couldn't get answered here/on the internet. She was actually super helpful and answered questions I'd had for years. I thought I might as well have her check over my application to ensure everything is in order, as I found the last experience of doing it myself to be extremely stressful and we got a couple of things wrong. It's more for my peace of mind than anything else.  :)

I can't imagine they are much different than one another, but if you are more comfortable traveling to another one - go for it!

There's no harm in using an attorney, we've just heard some horror stories over the years.  I'd recommend using Medivisas over any others out there.  They know what they are doing.   :)

We went to Sheffield, drove down from the north east as it was the closest for us. We drove down the night before our appointment and stayed at Premier Inn which was a five minute walk away. We had one of the first appointments and left with our visa in under an hour. Very nice people there. The location is in the city centre so you can get there by train as well.
