Priority, got the receipt e mail on 3 march and as things seemed to be moving along quickly thought one or two people on this thread might have heard by now, there are a couple of folks 2/3 days ahead of me.

My email that application had been received was March 1.  Hoping we all hear something next week.  Our house sale closes next Friday, the 17th and we will be staying with my daughter until visa arrives.  We are both hoping for a brief visit with her.

I feel like the weekend is going to drag! I really wish we'd paid for priority now - we were told not to because my husband was denied a visitors visa once (he applied for six months after having visited loads before already). But in hindsight I still wish we had gone for it!

Yeah, they tell you not to use priority if you've had a refusal, but I think that's just to cover themselves because they can't guarantee a fast decision in that case (i.e. if they have to look into the refusal it can delay the decision).

However, all priority processing does is cut the queue when your package arrives... and that happens before they even see that you've had a previous refusal. So, even if it does take a bit longer to process once they pick it up, paying for priority will still reduce the processing time by up to a few weeks because your application won't be sitting in line for as long.

They usually only do Saturdays when clearing backlog and it's VERY rare.

So I'll only check once or twice instead of the usual several hundred.   ;D

Very quiet on the timelines?? I take it nobody has heard anything recently? I suppose I wasn't expecting too much happening on a Monday but it is about 9 or 10 working days since a handful of people both priority and non-priority got their docs received emails  ???
