Hello! So happy to have found this awesome group of knowledgeable folks  :)
My name is Courtney and I am an American engaged to an amazing British Citizen, Chris. We met and fell in love in a FB group in September 2015 and have been in a LDR ever since. We met in person Jan 2016 when he flew over for 2 weeks. I went to England (for the first time ever with my first passport) in June 2016 for 3 weeks. He came back to US in September 2016 to visit for 2 weeks. I just went to visit him in January 2017 for 3 weeks.
I have been reading for several months on government site and on here about visas and such and was trying to figure out the easiest and least costly way of getting married and moving. I am moving to UK to be with him once we are married. We have decided that it will be the easiest for him to come here, get married, and me apply for spousal visa to move over since I will need to work as soon as I'm allowed.  I currently live in North Carolina and have been waiting on my divorce to be final before we could start moving forward with all of the legal stuff. (In NC you have to be separated for a year before divorce granted. It has been 18 months) Yesterday my divorce was final! Yay! Chris booked his ticket to come here at the end of April and we will get married and apply for Spousal Visa while he is here. Seems as though we qualify for the category A requirements for me to move there. I just wanted to introduce myself and say Hi! Thank you in advance for any advice  ;D

Hi Courtney! Welcome to the forum.  ;D

You seem to have done a really good job with your research so far.
Before you submit the online application, if you would like to post a list of everything you plan to include as evidence, we'd be happy to check it over for you.  :)

Here's a welcome from me and a shout out to a fellow North Carolinian.

I've lived in the UK with my French wife for 17 years, and every day is still like a holiday.  No joke, I learn something new or get asked where I am from almost every day.

Hi Courtney!
I'm a newbie here at the forum (this is my first reply to a post!) and I just wanted to wish you the best of luck. You have a similar story to mine but are much further down the road. I hope to follow your journey as you give me much hope! I haven't begun my divorce and I know it will be a very long journey requiring much patience.
I'm glad you posted and hope to hear your future updates!
Currently (2017) in new LDR with man in Liverpool area, I'm from Midwestern USA. Need info on visa, health concerns and SSDI info as I move to UK, as well as time line in terms of UK officials believing my LDR.
