London attack

Just turned on the TV. Disturbing images.
I just hope that more people will ignore the fatalism of the argument that we are beyond repair. We are not beyond repair. We are never beyond repair. - AOC

My boss's wife works in Parliament and she was locked in.  But he just text that she's home now.  To say he is relieved is an under statement!

And yes, I found the images being released a GIANT step too far by the media.  Allow people some dignity, you know?!?   >:(

Personally, if I was there, oppose from helping anyone I can as an absolute priority, I would probably record because I know the police and counter-terrorism rely heavily on recordings and images to help their investigations. However, by no means would I release the footage and I would delete it once sent in to the police.

Thoughts go out to all those effected  :\\\'(

This is interesting:

Police Arrest 7 In Connection To London Attack

It's a report from NPR's correspondent in London, funny how he mispronounces everything and talks about "cops"

I thought the same thing about the Metro pictures this morning.  They seemed almost gratuitous in focusing on the broken legs and people who may have even been dead.  It was too much.

I was working in the LGW BA lounge (OK, fine, I was eating all the free food, but they had pasta AND rice, and carbs are my lovers) before a flight when the news broke. Now I'm working an interventional cardiology symposium in Den Haag. Genuinely quite happy right now to not be around the constant barrage of hate that has surely been re-unleashed.

Reports are now saying that one of the dead is a US citizen and that his wife is seriously injured in hospital.
