Unless you were on the lease and paying bills in the home you dont need to write anything down.

A lot of people haven't ever lived with their sponsors, so you don't have to worry about that. My fiance (now husband) and I had never lived together.
The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

Of course!  Be honest.  As you were living together, you'll need that as proof during that time (versus phone records).

Additional information is if you need to explain anything unusual (large deposits, prior refusals, etc.).

Ahh okay, thank you for the response.

Unfortunately I have a few bank statements showing I lived at that address with my fiance. How would I prove this though (do I need to)?

I'd send a bank statement to cover the time you lived there then as proof of contact for that time period and write that you lived together.

A lot of people think that staying with their SO for a short period without receiving 'official' mail or being on the lease means they lived together, when they were in fact a visitor. 🙃

Hmm okay well I lived with my fiance from September-January, and I was named on the Council Tax. I didn't change my address until November  with my bank though so I can only prove I was living with him from November- January (on my bank statements).

Do I really need to prove we were living together? How else can I prove it?

Did you pay the rent or any bills?

You won't need to prove you were living together... It's going to be proof of how you kept in contact during that time period. You lived together. Instead of providing chat logs, phone calls, texts, etc. from that period to time, you'll provide that post. ☺

I didn't pay any bills. Hm....sorry to trouble you, but do you think the below list might suffice? We lived together from September-January.

1. Council Tax bill that states when I first moved into my fiance's house (owned by him) in September (and lists me as a significant other).

2. My internship contract from September- January that lists my name and address (fiance's address).

3. A few bank statements (October, November) that state my name and address (fiance's address) for that period.

4. Payslips that state my name and address (fiance's address) for that period.

Thank you for your time!

That's perfect! More than enough!  :)

I know it's covered in the application form but I would reiterate, in your letter, just so that they don't miss it, that you were in the UK on a visa that permitted you to work/live with your fiancee during that time frame. :)
