Very weird problem with VFS Global Payment systems
« on: March 31, 2017, 04:33:48 PM »
Selected priority service and roundtrip courier service yesterday in the total amount of $799 but wasn't able to pay because of credit card daily transaction limits.

Now today it shows both items in the cart but only the amount for the priority processing service ($572).  SO even though both appear in the cart, it wont let us pay for both.

If we go ahead and pay the priority part, will it then let us add the roundtrip courier again and pay for that separately.  (Otherwise assume we can just go to UPS store and buy roundtrip shipping directly from them)

Seems like an odd problem

Happened to me as well. Even when I called to get it fixed I was told it was a bug and would require a week or so to fix so that I would need to find another method to ship...and I couldn't pay for the priority application.

I shipped both ways with ups. It cost me about 100 more than with vfs global.

I called the uk help line but you have to pay to talk to them and they were useless. Here is the link to the number https://www.gov.uk/contact-ukvi-outside-uk

Others on the site might have some suggestions? But I was told tough luck. I got lucky my application was processed in a week without priority but it's slowed down a ton and people who did priority are waiting on average a month right now so you may want to fight for it more.

wow thats shocking! We shouldnt be penalized in the application process because the official payment website isnt working as it should

Worse even for us is that actually it took my payment for $572 (Priority fee) but issued a receipt for roundtrip processing $217. How does that even happen!!  :o

Bright side - hopefully the fact it debited the right amount for priority means they will honor it- but not really sure who to tell so we can get the ok.

I dont care so much about the shipping as the priority TBH!!

you need to include the receipt for priority in your documents I believe. So even though it took the correct amount I don't think they will honour it. You are going to have to contact them. You haven't done biometrics yet right?

did you call them today? Im not sure if they are open on Saturday or not, but with you needing the priority I would start pushing if the appointment is on Wednesday cause I was told it would take over a week to fix, if they could fix it at all.

It's insane that a government official payment system isn't a matter of urgency. Seriously......

Applying for my visa next week, so it's helpful to know this info. As if this whole process isn't hard enough on it's own.....

Hoping you're able to get it sorted quickly. Keep us updated!

It better be sorted quickly as there is no excuse...

I wonder if the problem is related to the fact that when you go to the payment page it somehow reverts to an India page link (On the link page header in the web browser bar), which wouldn't seem appropriate if we are making payment in USA? Seems like that should be an easy fix in theory!?

Will someone please let us know when/if this has been fixed? We are planning/hoping to apply next week, and this error would make it impossible.

I seriously can't BELIEVE the system wouldn't issue a correct receipt. Can't say I'm too impressed...

The way they explained it to me is that the error is caused by going in to the payment and then exiting. For some reason it's not equipped to go back into it?!?! Which is so weird considering someone may want to pay on two cards.

So you should be fine if you just go and pay for it the first time and don't exit and try to go back to the payment.

Why would anything be user friendly?!!!?!??

yeah we had to go back in because the original payment card was declined because we paid the the visa and something else the same day.

It's so frustrating that this has happened. Still not able to make priority payment......
