Cheapest way to fly my dog?

Hi there,
I need to fly my dog from Philadelphia USA to London heathrow. I would pick her up in London. The flights are ridiculously expensive?? Anyone had his issue and found a cheaper flight?

I just don't see why a dog is more expensive then a ticket for myself!

It's because they have to fly Cargo and clear customs.

It is cheaper to fly them into Paris or Amsterdam, but you need a car to get them back to the UK (as they can't go on the trains or any mode of public transport). 

But yes, my cats tickets were roughly the cost of business class flights!
