Hi everyone, been lurking here for a while, and congratulations to all who have received their decision email. We submitted priority applications for my U.S. partner and her two young kids, in early April and are still awaiting our decision email.

This is our timeline from Florida.

Online application submitted April 1st
Biometrics April 4th
Document package arrived Sheffield April 10th (acknowledgement email same day)
Email requesting additional documents received May 11th, emailed then back May 12th

Nothing further since then, the additional documents required were to further establish we had been in a relationship for over two years although we sent multiple documents and photos and the original Birth Certificate for our daughter who is two years old this month in the original package.

We are getting very concerned, I have read on another forum that they have "paused" issuing refusals if children are involved until they clarify that they are in full compliance with the law following a Supreme Court judgement earlier in the year.

Are you applying as unmarried partners?  If so, have you been living together in the US or another country for the last two years?

Hi Britflyer, welcome.

For the unmarried partner visa, they are quite strict about the evidence they require. They need to see that you have been living together at the same address for a full two years. So ideally, joint- utility bills, insurance policies, bank accounts, credit cards etc.
Did you supply this kind of evidence?

Thank you for the replies. yes we sent all that we had including joint names for the past 2 1/2 years on our home lease, joint AMEX credit card account also over 2 years etc, Life Insurance on me showing my partner as beneficiary,  unfortunately the utility bills were just in my name, If only I had known at the time....and of course our 2 year old child, we sent family pics of us with her and the other children at various stages during the past two years.

Today's little treat, mani-pedis for me, ex wife2, daughter, and granddaughter.

Last UPS tracking showed documents had left Kentucky and was on-time for delivery tomorrow.

I'll finally have my answer one way or another and can proceed with plan a or plan b.  I'm, of course, pulling for plan a.

Has your partner been living in the USA on a visa or green card then?

Same here. I'm picking it up at the depot at 830 am so I don't have to wait until 4 for it to be delivered. Then after, taking my car to carmax and a few places. Hope everything works out!

Good! And that's so true, how many of us know 2 years earlier where life is going to take us?
They are strict on the requirement as I mentioned, but it sounds like you have provided some good evidence there.  :)

No, she is a US Citizen by birth, I (as sponsor) have dual UK/US born in the UK to British parents. The children are from a previous marriage but she has sole custody.

I think the point they are trying to get at is how do you qualify for the unmarried partners visa? Have you been living together and are you currently living together for at least the last 2 years?

Sorry I should have made it clearer, yes we have been living together since August 2014, among the documents we sent were original copies of our annual house leases with both our names covering the last 2 years 6 months (since Nov 2014)

You were so smart to do that! I was afraid to do anything that might lengthen delivery time.

Are you getting your car serviced/washed/etc. before selling it, or are you just doing it as is? I'm not sure if it's worth the money as I'll most likely get an awful price anyway.

Nah, no washing. Plus, the rain we've been having, its getting one anyways! But they're looking at cosmetic dings and dents as well as if the engine works ect. Washing isnt as important.
