Biometrics submitted today, and package sent off to lawyers!

We did priority, so I'm hoping that we will get an answer in 6-ish weeks. *biting nails*

Still, the burden is off our shoulders. We've done everything we can, and now it's time for us to start getting ready for the big move. I'm slowly collecting stuff to give away, but an awful lot will have to wait until just before I leave. *sigh* I'm scared we'll get the visa with only 10 days' notice, although of course that will be better than a rejection.

That's great to hear!

Application submitted today! Was able to purchase through VFS...I think I just got lucky and their website came together for just enough time for me to do that.

Biometrics Friday!

Good luck, are you planning to send your package to Sheffield on Friday?

Katoo---probably not. The earliest appointment I could get was noon on Friday and I have to work that day at 2pm. So I will probably send it out Saturday instead.

Are you going to try walking in? Others have been able to do that, and the ASC I visited today said they will take walk ins as long as you have an official letter and they're not too busy.

I hasn't considered that but I'll give them a call tomorrow and see what they say. I'm not overly worried about it because I'm not wanting to leave until July anyways. But it would be nice to get it done a few days earlier and get it off my hands.

I walked in on Thursday when my appointment was the following Monday.  They took me.

What Katoo said. Also, seems like people have luck going first thing in the morning before it gets busy. The ASC here opens at 7 AM and starts doing biometrics at 7:30 AM (despite it only saying it does 10 AM appointments and later when going through the UKVI site).

Oooh very interesting. I will definitely call them tomorrow and see what they say. I live in AZ so I have a nagging feeling they're pretty busy since we're a border state.

All the more reason to try to walk in. It took me an hour to get through today, and most of that time was going through security inspection and waiting to check in. But most of the people were looking for US immigration, not UK, so I got to jump ahead. Actual waiting time (after check in and security) was only about 10 minutes. And, despite it being that long of a wait, they told me that they would have taken a walk in. So worth a try. :D

My town in Colorado was really easy to get in to. There was no real wait, no security really. You walked into a waiting area, took a number than they did my biometrics.

I think I waited 5-10 minutes since there was someone having an issue ahead of me. And the people working there apologised for the wait.

So it simply depends on where you are located. I was in a small town (largest city on our side of the state) and it was easy peasy lemon squeezy.
The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

My application arrived in Sheffield last Monday.  I know that with the two bank holidays, that there have been only 4 working days that it has been there.  I also know that it's taking 4-5 weeks for priority applications.  I also know that having gotten a refusal, most likely mine will take longer to process.

So tell me.  Why do I keep checking my email to see if a decision has been made?

Ha.  You might be the first person to ever say that.
